The discourse still hasn’t found a unanimous answer, and it’s doubtful that that will happen any time soon. The question is always the same: Is being homosexual a choice? (Or any other sexuality other than straight).
The nature of sexuality has been debated by countless people, including healthcare providers, scientists, psychologists, and religious organizations. What is certain is that no one should be ashamed of who they love and who they are! There’s nothing wrong with loving people of the same sex as you or vacillating between two or more genders! So why is it still so difficult to get out of the proverbial closet?
People who aren’t in the LGBTQIA+ community might be grumpy at times about all these new labels that keep popping up, but finding something that describes how you feel about yourself is more important than caring about other people think. One could be gay or straight, but sexuality is not binary and it is not always rigid! You could be bisexual, asexual, or maybe attracted to all genders! It’s not just teenagers who can discover that they’re not as straight as they thought they were. Undoubtedly, many people have pondered this question at some point in their lives, whether it’s because of actual attraction or because of something that society considers “gay.” In the last ten years alone, there have been massive changes in our society and our understanding of sexuality, making it natural for people to question their sexuality.
